Telehealth is the use of telephone and video technology to provide one on one physiotherapy services remotely.
Most issues are appropriate for telehealth. Telehealth physiotherapy services can provide a detailed assessment, and therapeutic benefit in each session primarily addressed by providing and not limited to active exercise, functional progression, education, self-management, self-mobilization, and/or monitoring (such as for external signs of swelling, redness, etc.) At times telehealth is insufficient to fully address your goals as hands-on treatment by your physiotherapist is not possible but in-person sessions can be arranged. In this case, a face to face follow up will be suggested by your physiotherapist. Clients requiring vestibular therapy, pelvic floor therapy and exercise-based treatments are particularly helpful and convenient with telehealth.
Your privacy is important as an in-person physiotherapy session, therefore all personal information you provide is confidential and is stored securely. No part of the video session will be recorded or stored. We utilize Jane App in order to deliver secure telehealth sessions.
During the session, you will need to have a quiet and private space. You will need access to a computer or laptop, android or iOS devices connected to the internet and a Jane App account. When you book online, you will already have created an account. Once you have scheduled an appointment, an email will be sent to you to fill out the online intake form, and another email invitation reminder will be sent prior to your appointment to log in and join the video chat.
Payment is simple and easy. Your physiotherapist will collect your credit card information that will be entered into our secure online booking and billing software, Jane App, on your first appointment. The information will be securely stored and the number obscured. A receipt will be emailed to you upon payment which can be submitted to your insurance company. There is no fee for ICBC clients.
