Physiotherapy Services

We are located close to Metrotown in Burnaby and offer physiotherapy services to the Vancouver and Greater Vancouver area.

Manual therapy
This specialized therapy utilizes a "hands-on" approach to treatment. Manual therapy treatments includes gentle mobilization of joints, massage, joint manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, mobilization of neural tissue, and muscle energy techniques.

Therapeutic Modalities
Modalities are specialized therapeutic equipment used during treatment that helps reduce inflammation, pain, and muscle spasms and enhance tissue healing. Such devices include interferential current, TENS, ultrasound, laser, mechanical traction, heat and cold therapy and radial shockwave therapy.

Proper knowledge is vital to help recover from injuries and to prevent future occurrence. Educating our clients is one of our top priorities. Education includes injury prevention, postural correction, back and neck care, home and workplace ergonomics, and pain management.

Acupuncture is a technique of using fine needles into specific points on the body with the aim of reducing inflammation, pain and increase mobility. This is an effective treatment for headaches and chronic pain syndromes.

Intramuscular Stimulation
Intramuscular stimulation (IMS) is an effective treatment for chronic pain. The treatment involves dry needling of affected areas of the body. The effects of IMS are cumulative. Needling stimulates a certain amount of healing, until eventually, the condition is healed and the pain disappears.

Exercise Therapy
Exercise in general is very important for a healthy lifestyle. It is especially important after injury. Such exercises that we provide may include muscle stretching and strengthening, balance and coordination, cardiovascular retraining, and core stabilization.

Sports Therapy
Sports therapy includes all treatments specific to sports related injuries. Athletic taping and specialized exercise catered to each individual sport is particular of interest with treating such injuries.

Active Rehabilitation Program
Our program is lead by a highly experienced physiotherapist that is trained for many years in work conditioning and personal training. The goal of the program is to help increase strength, flexibility, function and general conditioning to individuals after an injury. Individuals that are most suitable for this program are those involved in a motor vehicle accident, and work related injuries. This program will help clients return to normal function safely and efficiently.

Vestibular Rehabilitation
Dizziness and balance problems account for about 5-10% of all physician visits. Also, it is the number one reason for physician visits in those over 65. Vestibular therapy can help to diminish dizziness and balance problems, and its treatment efficacy can be determined within 3-4 visits. This treatment utilizes careful assessment, specialized techniques and specific exercise. For more details on vestibular rehab, click here.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive alternative to surgery and cortisone injections. This is often used to treat the pain of long-standing soft tissue injuries such as plantar fascitis, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, and tendonitis in the shoulder, hip, knee, or foot.
